Republishing Policy

Unless otherwise noted, you may republish articles published by the Tammany Times for free under the Creative Commons "BY-NC-ND" license, subject to the conditions below.

How to Republish

To republish, manually copy the story text from our site and adhere to these requirements:

  1. Credit us as: "by [Author Name(s)], Tammany Times".
  2. Add this line at the top: "This story was originally published by Tammany Times. Get the daily, 3-minute email with the news you need to understand New York politics, with all the relevant highlights from City Hall, Albany, and DC—sign up for the Tammany Times AM Briefing here." The words "originally published" must be a do-follow link to the original post on tammanytimes.com.
  3. Include a "canonical" meta-tag in the page's HTML pointing to the story's URL on tammanytimes.com.
  4. Notify us of use by emailing nick@tammanytimes.com.

Terms of Agreement

By republishing, you agree to:

  • Limit changes to your in-house style (e.g., % vs. "percent") without altering the story's content.
  • Republish no more than 5 articles per month, selected individually—not wholesale or automatically.
  • Include our photos, graphics, or media with attribution if we own them; license third-party content separately (we're not liable for unauthorized use).
  • Avoid reselling the story or selling ads directly against it (pre-existing page ads are fine).
  • Ensure your site has a clear contact method for your organization.
  • Retain the above credits and promotions in all versions, including syndication to platforms like Apple News or Google News.
  • Accept that Tammany Times may revoke future access to articles at our discretion.
